RAMSEY WINCHES USED AROUND THE WORLD
Show Business
Yes, there's no business like show business - eyecatchers everywhere! But how do you make it clear what a winch can do? An off road show off the road provides better chances than a show in a showroom, that's for sure! The show; Pro-log was May 24-27 in Bad Kissingen Germany.
The Platinum 9000 winch mounted above the front bumper of the Mercedes G wagon is attracting those who want to learn how to handle the winch. The REP quick mount kit in rear - with adaptor for a ball coupling - is lifted again and again to check the weight of the whole set.

The little Suzuki racing car - performing the big Platinum winch on a self-made heavy-duty mounting - gives a reason to talk shop. And still the winch could not show what it can really do.

Get a vehicle free that is stuck deep in the mud? Okay, but where is the mud hole, when the weather is dry and hot? Pull a vehicle up a vertical slope? Okay, but where is the hill on the showground? We need a high anchoring point. A crane! And we need a heavy vehicle with a big winch.

A Chevy Pickup with a DC 200! We also need an experienced winch operator ... the towing service of the Croatia Trophy! Markus Ritter had designed a very solid winch mounting for the Trophy. For the show, he added one more roller guide - for vertical lifting.

The steel cable is guided from the Chevy to the top of Franz Aigner's crane. He is the expert towing service of truck rallies in Europe and in North Africa. His fried Harry risks his Volkswagen Iltis for the winch demonstration. It is a small risk, with all the action coordinated by Eugen Eble, specialized in restauration of former Army vehicles.

The DC drum starts turning, the steel cable is under tension, the Iltis is lifted - and it is rotating. A small problem for a big crew! One man holds a lifeline to keep the Iltis from turning, and the winch is performed again and again and again and again!
Do you have an interesting story to tell which involves your Ramsey Winch? Let us know. Contact Lisa Holden at lisaholden@ramsey.com or 918-234-2138. Photos need to be included with your story, but they don't need to be action shots. They can be of your vehicle in your driveway. (of course we would like your Ramsey Winch in the pic.)
