RAMSEY WINCHES USED AROUND THE WORLD
Welcome to Croatia!
In the middle of May, off road enthusiasts from all over the world meet in the Croatian Mountains for the biggest and toughest competition that you can imagine: the 2002 Croatia Trophy. This race takes you right through the country. It requires six days and one night of driving, winching and navigating according to the guidebook. Both pilot and co-pilot need experience and a well-prepared vehicle!

Here's a rundown of some participants from this year's Croatia Trophy:
- Vincent Sweeney from Virginia has fitted a Ramsey REP 8000 on his black Pinzgauer, a vehicle made in Austria that has traveled across the Atlantic several times.
- Burkhard Eggemann also has a Ramsey REP 8000 mounted on the rear of his custom vehicle
looks like a yellow Toyota, but with a Unimog chassis and a Chevy motor!
- Fritz Becker fitted the first Ramsey Patriot winch exported to Germany on his self-made combination of Unimog chassis and orange-colored Jeep body. (The contents under his hood will remain a secret!)
- Bernd Dasbach has a true Jeep and is prepared for anything
with a Ramsey Platinum 9500 on both the front and rear.
- Detlef Regenberg decided on Ramsey's REP 8000 for the rear of his Unimog, nicknamed "Red Toy Truck".
- Christof Danner is driving a vehicle he built, in a way. He is a DaimlerChrysler engineer in Graz and he races a Mercedes G wagon - Puch, is the Austrian name - with a Ramsey Platinum 9000 mounted in the front.
- Hans Eibl has fitted two Platinum 9500 winches on his Suzuki. A bit oversized, but this experienced driver knows what this race means.
- Another driver from Germany is well known for his self-welded pickup truck called the Purple Cow
with a purple Bad Boy winch mounted in the rear.
- Michael Yochay from Israel has a Ramsey Platinum 9500 winch mounted on his red Jeep Wrangler. Guy Refael, also from Israel, has a REP 8000 mobile mounting on the rear of his lemon-yellow Jeep.
- Two drivers from Poland, Adrian Kus and Wojciech Polowiec, have mounted Ramsey Patriot winches on their race trucks.
- The Dutchman, Sjaak Bakker, winner of the Croatia Trophy 2000 Fair Play Winch, competed with his Ramsey Platinum 9000 mounted on a new snow-white Defender.

Do you have an interesting story to tell which involves your Ramsey Winch? Let us know. Contact Lisa Holden at lisaholden@ramsey.com or 918-234-2138. Photos need to be included with your story, but they don't need to be action shots. They can be of your vehicle in your driveway. (of course we would like your Ramsey Winch in the pic.)
